Welcome! Come on in and hear a bit of why I started this here o’ blog…
I love to plan. It’s my escape from days when the dishes are piling up in the sink, the laundry needs to be put away instead left in the hamper and whatever other chores are looming. When I want to do something fun, but can’t actually do anything at that moment, I plan.
I dream up church events for the community, birthday parties for my girls, fun family trips, or how I want to redecorate a room. I make lists upon lists upon lists. I store some ideas away for “someday,” others become long forgotten Pinterest boards…but some ideas get me so excited that I find a way to make them happen!
This blog has been a dream for YEARS. And like the true procrastinator that I am, it’s sat in the back of my head rolling around. (And yes, there was even a secret Pinterest board at one point!) Today is the day I bring this dream to fruition. I want to use this platform to share my passions with you. My hope is that you will feel inspired to go after some of your own dreams and goals or just enjoy hearing stories about the ups and downs of being a stay at home dreamer…I mean mom….stay at home mom. But I kind of think that “stay at home dreamer” describes me well. I am outgoing, but love to have people come to my space. I am always looking for ways to share my ideas and passions, but with a strong desire and commitment to be home for this season of my kiddos’ lives.
Now that you know that random information about me, let me introduce myself a little better. My name is Amie. I’m in my thirties with a hubby and three girls ages six and under. We live in Northern Michigan and my husband is the pastor of a church in the middle of dairy country. Like I said, I stay at home full-time with my girls. That’s all the stuff you would learn about me in a quick greeting. But let’s go a step further. Imagine you are curled up on my couch with a blanket and a warm cuppa. Here’s some of what I would end up spilling…
I enjoy thrifting. Decorating your home is always more fun when you can say, “I found that for a dollar! Can you believe it?!?” I love to read and usually check out WAAAY too many books from the library at once. I enjoy baking and cooking and grocery shopping. I’m one of those weirdos who thinks it’s fun to memorize prices of cereal and sausage so I can score the best deals at Aldi. I’m learning to garden through many mistakes, but I can make a few things grow! But most of all, I love my people. I am always trying to find ways to stay connected with the different groups of people in my life, whether it’s having a family from church over for dinner, hosting a book club dinner with friends or hauling my kids two and half hours away for our annual apple picking day with my side of the family.
I love getting to know people. My passion for connecting with people has led to me getting my B.A. degree in Communications, working in Christian camping ministry, volunteering and creating many events for my church community, learning and practicing hospitality, studying the Enneagram, and hopefully one day becoming a Life Coach.
